Copyright & abuse
How to report content hosted on SecondMind, and what we do about it.
1. Reporting copyright infringement
SecondMind lets people store files and notes they supply. If you believe material stored here infringes your copyright, send a notice to contact@controlgrp.com including:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
- Identification of the material you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it.
- Your address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
Most SecondMind content is private to a single account and never published. We can only act on material you can identify — typically a public community skill or profile.
2. What we do with a notice
We review notices promptly, remove or disable access to material we determine is likely infringing, and notify the account holder with a copy of the notice.
3. Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address with your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, and your contact details with consent to jurisdiction. We may restore the material after a statutory waiting period unless the complainant files a court action.
4. Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe. Accounts may be suspended while a matter is investigated.
5. Other abuse
Report spam, harassment, malware, or unlawful material to contact@controlgrp.com. We suspend accounts that breach the Terms of Service.
We do not tolerate child sexual abuse material. Where we obtain actual knowledge of such material we remove it, terminate the account, preserve evidence, and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by law.
6. Designated agent
Notices should be sent to contact@controlgrp.com.
